A butterfly valve is a solution that controls the flow of gases, liquids, or powders. This is done with a disc that is partially or fully closed. The valve rotates, allowing for quick closure or opening of a pipeline. Because the butterfly valve has few parts, maintenance costs are low. It is easy to install and has a small installation size. They are available in different materials such as stainless steel, cast iron, and bronze. Butterfly valves are classified into concentric and eccentric valves. In a concentric butterfly valve, the spindle is positioned in the center of the seat and thus in the center of the pipe. The valve turns 90 degrees. In an eccentric butterfly valve, the spindles are offset from the center. Butterfly valves can be operated electrically, pneumatically, through a reduction gearbox, or manually, and are available in various sizes.
